Please share any useful information and tips that you may have for other cosplayers who may be on a tight budget.
Make your own costumes. You don't have to use fancy material. Cotton will do just fine. Just go to the dollar section in Walmart's material section and pick out the colors you need. It's best to look at a picture of the outfit before leaving, or print one out. And you don't really need to buy a pattern. I didn't, and I usually don't. (then again, I HAVE only made two outfits . . . XD; )

If you need to make a prop, don't buy it online. Use Styrofoam and paint. Owo Or even cardboard.

Of course, I never have a really low budget. o3o I know I'll be able to save up for whatever I need. o__o;;
Good tips MikuruNyan, as you say it doesn't have to be fancy material and part of the enjoyment will be in the making of the costume.
Yes, buying materials and DIY is cheap. But if you are just like me always fail to make it successfully, here I would like to advise you to find a cheap site and buy online.
